Mechanical Engineer, July 2020 - present

  • Designs and implements electromechanical automation equipment for scaling production of RaniPill (Goal: 1500 devices/day).

  • Owns design of components for the second generation RaniPill and performs verification testing with custom fixtures to evaluate, report on, and resolve device failures. Creates product assembly tooling, fixtures, and work instructions for assemblers and technicians.

  • Originates and establishes process development for component and fixture design and manufacturability at scale for in house processes and coordinates multiple vendors across injection molding, rubber molding, machining, and thermoforming industries while in compliance with quality and regulatory bodies.

Product Engineer, April 2019 - June 2020

  • Directed fleet operations and maintenance for 4 Whole Foods and Walmart grocery stores. Involved generating monthly performance reports, as well as allocating and overseeing tasks to multiple team members to ensure continuous positive energy savings at all sites.

  • Operated the Refrigeration Battery/Virtual Battery which generated over $44,299 to a projected $36,662 per year (21% increase) - only 1 of 4 fully qualified on whole team.

  • Saved 120+ hours of team time per year by building in house and remote inventory system from scratch to track thousands of dollars of assets, and developing documentation and training third party maintenance providers in Refrigeration Battery maintenance.

  • Established an automated end-to-end process to generate customer-facing emails and KPIs for performance reports for the new Virtual Technician service for up to 25 grocery stores per month. Employed Python and API integrations to generate tailored HTML templates.

Mechanical Engineering Intern, October 2018 - January 2019

  • Owned design recovery of the “rack pusher” and “rack door” robotic subsystems of a novel commercial kitchen robot. Reduced robot runtime by 50% by incorporating high speed rated components onto the rack pusher.

  • Completed over 72 engineering drawings for the critical-path subsystem (chassis) in 3 days to meet manufacturing deadlines by end of the quarter, and made revision changes and updated BOMs in PDM and Arena PLM to incorporate new sensors.

Mechanical Engineering Intern, July 2018 - September 2018

  • Owned fluidics hardware module on the now-commercially successful LightningTM Optofluidic Platform.

  • Wrote and executed 15 design verification tests to monitor conditions at micro and nano scales to derisk module from pilot to production phase.

  • Executed experiments to design more effective Peltier housing, and sourced Peltier module with a reduced reagent freeze time from 2 minutes to 15 seconds, diminishing costs by $200/unit.

Ride Mechanical Intern, June 2017 - September 2017

  • Spearheaded the mechanical, controls, and fabrication teams in designing and building two autonomous innovative trackless prototype vehicles in their full project cycle, from initial conceptualization and manufacturing and assembly, to final arena testing.

  • Synthesized design, fabrication, and installation of electronic component fixtures on Jake the Robot, the first playtest droid for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Controlled Jake at Disneyland over 3 months to gather user experience feedback and make design changes.

Mechanical Engineering Intern, July 2015 - September 2015

  • Implemented design and fabrication of fixtures to cycle test a carbon fiber foot for amputees to up to 2 million cycles of high impact.

  • Reduced error in company’s Mitutoyo precision instruments roughness tester by 30% by designing aluminum fixtures to replace zip ties.
